*If you are traveling out of the country for your honeymoon immediately following your wedding, make sure that the name that you booked the ticket in and the name on your passport match. While it can be fun to book your ticket in your brand-new name, be sure that if you do so, you have proof of marriage with you so as to overcome any security issues easily. Your officiant should be able to provide a temporary proof of marriage for you, since your official marriage license will not be ready yet.
To change your name on your current U.S. passport by mail, you must be able to answer YES to ALL of these questions:
· I can submit my most recent U.S. Passport
· I was at least 16 years old when my most recent U.S. Passport was issued
· I was issued my most recent U.S. Passport less than 15 years ago.
· I have had my name changed by marriage or court order and can submit proper documentation to reflect my name change
